Job Description
We are currently seeking a Special Events Manager. The Special Events Manager is responsible for managing the planning and execution of Development fundraising events while cultivating and stewarding relationships with sponsors, donors, and event attendees to drive further engagement. This position is the secondary interface for all sponsorship activities and works with the Director, Events & Sponsorship to create tools to facilitate obtaining Development event sponsorships.
The position also tracks event revenue across all fundraising channels while collaborating with Development Operations and Finance to ensure accurate reconciliation, reporting, and allocation of event revenue and builds event-specific fundraising forms and landing pages. The Special Events Manager is a key member of the Events and Development Teams, working with consultants, vendors, and volunteers in the planning and execution of Development fundraising events and participating in strategic planning related to Development events.
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. Course work in fundraising, business, event planning, communication, marketing and/or public relations preferred.
Experience
Minimum five years of experience working on large-scale and high-profile events with major corporate sponsors, primarily with non-profit organizations.
Requirements:
Proven experience securing and stewarding corporate sponsorships, soliciting potential donors, and high-level partnerships for fundraising events.
Demonstrated expertise in planning, executing, and evaluating large-scale nonprofit fundraising events that achieve or exceed revenue goals.
Proficiency with fundraising/CRM platforms, including Blackbaud’s The Raiser’s Edge (Events Module and RENXT)
Builds and manages event-specific fundraising forms and landing pages using GiveSmart Events and GiveSmart Fundraise, including event details, online ticketing and sponsorship registration, raffle sales, and online and live auction functionality
Experience managing event guest lists, RSVPs, seating, and communications using tools such as Zkipster or similar platforms.
Advanced computer skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (sponsor tracking, analysis, reporting), and strong proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Acrobat Pro.
Salary: 39.29 – 49.12
