Job Description
We are looking for a highly skilled Specialist for the Mechanization of Berths to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing detailed plans for the augmentation and procurement of cargo handling equipment to enhance port operations efficiency.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare detailed plans for the mechanization and augmentation of berths to improve cargo handling efficiency.
2. Conduct assessments of current equipment and infrastructure to identify areas for improvement.
3. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.
4. Research and evaluate new technologies and equipment for cargo handling and berth mechanization.
5. Develop specifications and technical requirements for the procurement of cargo handling equipment.
6. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain quotes, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of equipment.
7. Oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of new equipment.
8. Provide technical expertise and support to port operations teams during the implementation phase.
+. Monitor project progress and performance, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
10. Conduct training sessions for port staff on the operation and maintenance of new equipment.
11. Prepare reports and presentations to communicate project status, findings, and recommendations to senior management.
Qualifications:
1. M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
2. Ph.D. or M.Phil. candidates are preferable.
3. Minimum of 15 years of experience in the field of mechanization or upgrading port equipment.
4. Strong technical knowledge of cargo handling equipment and systems.
5. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
