UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Qualifications
3-5 years Experience working effectively with K-12 students and/or family and intergenerational audience in an educational setting (formal or informal learning). (Required)
2-4 years Experience teaching with works of art and facilitating hands-on art making activities. (Required)
Experience developing programs that advance the museum education field. (Required)
Prior art museum experience and knowledge of museum operations, standards, practices, and procedures. (Required)
Knowledge of museum tour and teaching methods and strategies. Demonstrated passion for engaging youth with art. (Required)
Demonstrated ability in conceptualizing, planning, and implementing educational programs, including tours, workshops, and other university initiatives. (Required)
Demonstrated knowledge of K-12 California state content standards and childhood development theories. (Required)
Experience supervising and leading teams through complex projects. (Required)
Working knowledge of contemporary art, living artists, and cultural production. (Required)
Familiarity with university setting, working relationships, and operations. UCLA specific knowledge a plus. (Preferred)
Self-starting, resourceful, proactive, and motivated in performing and excelling in responsibilities. (Required)
Proven research skills and experience. Proven skill in budget and financial analysis preparation and management, and cost control (Required)
Ability to prioritize and adjust heavy workload, manage a variety of tasks, and meet various deadlines with changing priorities, frequent interruptions, and conflicting deadlines. (Required)
Excellent communication skills, including oral, written, editing, and proofreading. Demonstrated ability to compose routine business correspondence with correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Ability to make oral group presentations to provide information. (Required)
Skill in negotiating, exchanging ideas, information, and opinions and arrive jointly at decisions, conclusions, or solutions. Excellent interpersonal skills to interact diplomatically and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships internally. (Required)
Ability to discreetly and tactfully recognize and handle sensitive and confidential information. (Required)
Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations
Bachelor's Degree in related area and/or equivalent combination of education and experience/training (Required)
Other Type of Degree Degree in art, art history, museum education or related field; advanced degree strongly preferred (Preferred)
