Specialist Production Planning
Full time, Brisbane based mining engineering role.
Focus on long term mine planning, associated projects and business improvement.
Occasional travel to site to support Rio Tinto bauxite operations.

We are looking for a Specialist Production Planning to deliver technical mine planning and project support to Rio Tinto bauxite operations located at Weipa and Gove.
This role is a great opportunity for a proactive, technically minded engineer to provide long term mine planning direction, leadership and support.
Reporting to the Manager Production Planning, you will be responsible for:
Reserve estimation and reporting in accordance with Rio Tinto and regulatory requirements.
Long term mine planning, to provide guidance to the business on upcoming capital and project requirements.
Closure planning and integrating closure works into the mine plan.
Performance analysis and reconciliation to ensure validity of planning assumptions.
Be proactive in the area of business improvement and transformation.
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will be;
Degree qualified in mining engineering or similar.
Site based, technical mine planning experience in an open pit environment.
Strong technical mining engineering skills (design, planning, scheduling).
Be proactive and enjoy a collaborative and team orientated working environment.
Proficient with mine planning software (Deswik experience will be advantageous).
