Specialty Product Associate I
Job responsibilities:
Managing the sanction screening queue for across regions.
Ensure quality of work meets the department standards by establishing quality control checks into the processes.
Ensure that all Operational issues are addressed and completed in an acceptable time frame.
Identify root cause of non-compliance events and other issues. Prepare reports outlining recommendations for improvements and executing action plans to ensure robust compliance.
Possess strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills. High level of integrity and commitment to work in a changing and challenging environment.
Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the team by recommending and suggesting ideas/solutions that will address process gaps and influence process efficiency.
Ensure adequate Backups are maintained for each function/person.
Ensure effective people management and development, including staffing and selection, integration of new staff to teams, facilitating functional training, measuring individual and team performance, providing feedback, managing people issues & address non-performance issues.
Ability to prioritize, manage and organize heavy daily workload.
To prepare various internal/regulatory reports. Ensure timely identification and reporting of risks and other issues. Review and analyses performance reports against targets on a weekly/monthly basis with Managers and with client to investigate causes for performance deviations.
Constantly raise the bar for self and team.
Flexibility in working hours as need to follow rotational shifts with occasional requirement to cover country specific holidays.
Monitor the Inbox and executing the urgent request and high value transaction with speed and accuracy.
Required Skills & Qualification:
Ability to operate in a complex, high-pressure, highly regulated environment in support of a high risk processes.
Bachelor's degree or higher.
Minimum 7 years of experience in various trade products.
Prior experience in a trade risk/compliance/sanction screening role is an added advantage.
Prior knowledge of OFAC sanctions is preferable.
Analytical and with an investigative eye for accurate details.
Ability to work in a team as well as independently.
Must demonstrate an attention to detail and have an investigative and questioning nature.
Must have good interpersonal skills, a flexible, collaborative and team-oriented approach to problem-solving and an ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, and preferably with some experience of dealing in multiple regions.
Should be a self-starter with abilities to arrive at decisions with minimum support.
Should have high work ethics and effectively escalate issues to the attention of the senior management on a timely basis.
Should have the ability to work on multiple tasks/projects simultaneously to deliver against organization objectives.
Ability to identify ways to increase efficiency and effectiveness of work performed and resources utilized.
