Job Description

Speech Pathologist – Mobile, Office-Based & Telehealth | Neurodiversity-Affirming Practice
Part-time, with the opportunity to move to full-time
Experienced or senior speech pathologists preferred
Locations: Inner West, Southern Sydney, Eastern Suburbs

About Us

At As You Are Allied Health, we're on the lookout for passionate speech therapists to join our growing team. Our company was born from a desire to create a space that's affirming for everyone—clients and staff alike. We’re dedicated to being compassionate therapists, strong advocates for our community, and an understanding and flexible employer. We value learning and growth in all that we do, and hope that our new team members do so too!

We are a small and close-knit team of four (three speechies and one fabulous admin assistant), and we value autonomy, collaboration, and joy in our work. We work flexibly - partly from home and partly from our beautiful Leichhardt office - and support each other through regular connection and shared learning.

Most of our clients are in Sydney’s Inner West, with some in Southern Sydney and the Eastern Suburbs.

We strongly value neurodivergent perspectives, and encourage neurodivergent therapists to apply. We aim to create a workplace where you can work as you are.

About the Role

Flexible part-time role: With the option to increase to full-time over time
‘Fill Your Cup’ days: Enjoy additional days beyond your standard leave to do something that fills your cup. Whether it's dedicating time to Professional Development, enjoying a long weekend getaway, or simply taking a mid-week pause to relax, how you choose to fill your cup is entirely up to you!
Clear and reasonable targets: KPIs are set based on experience and preference
Mobile role: Visit clients at home, school, and preschool, with some opportunities to connect with the team from our office space in Leichhardt.
Work your way: Do admin from home, a local café, or your favourite library (Marrickville Library is ours!)
Supportive environment: Internal and external supervision opportunities to help you grow in your areas of interest
Generous PD budget: Minimum $1500, with room for more based on your needs
Personal resource budget: To keep you well-stocked while you’re on the go
Coffee catch ups and socials: To stay connected with your team
Admin support: For client bookings and scheduling
About Our Clients

Our clients are mostly neurodivergent, with many being autistic or autistic ADHDers. They range in age from 18 months to 60 years, though most are school-aged children. We support our clients in the areas of authentic autistic communication and connection, language, speech, AAC, stuttering, and more. We’re proud to work with many neurodivergent families who appreciate our neurodiversity-affirming approach.

About You

Experience: We are open to considering applicants with a range of experience. An interest in being in a senior position/supporting other team members is preferred.
Interests: We would love to welcome a team member that is competent accross a wide range of areas, and who may have some interests that are different to those of our current team. Experience in speech sounds/CAS, voice, or dysphagia would be incredible!
Passion for neuro affirming therapy: or a strong willingness to learn
Lived experience of neurodivergence is highly valued: neurodivergent individuals are strongly encouraged to apply.
Independent and flexible: You thrive in a mobile role and are willing to travel to different areas of Sydney (within a 30 minute radius).
Team player: You enjoy staying in touch and joining in on coffee catch-ups
Great communicator: With both your team and your clients’ support networks
