Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Speech Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and communication disorders in children with special needs. This role requires a professional who is passionate about making a positive impact on children's lives and is skilled in developing individualized therapy plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in children with special needs.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each child’s specific needs and goals.
Provide therapy sessions using evidence-based practices to improve speech and language skills, including articulation, fluency, voice, and language comprehension.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, psychologists, educators, and parents, to ensure a holistic approach to each child's development.
Monitor and document progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed to achieve optimal outcomes.
Educate and train parents and caregivers on strategies to support speech and language development at home.
Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in speech therapy.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress reports.
Advocate for children’s communication needs within the centre and the broader community.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a similar setting or specialized centre for children with special needs.
Diploma in hearing, language and speech therapy. (DHLS)
Training in alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) methods.
Bilingual or multilingual abilities.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to therapy.
