Location Profile
Located on beautiful Wurundjeri Country, Strathtulloh Primary School has been educating with HEART since 2026. We are a brand-new state of the art school, located in the suburb of Strathtulloh. We opened in January 2026 with 710 students already growing to over 1400 students and employing over 140 staff in 2026.

SC1 Development and delivery of a comprehensive speech pathology service and a capacity to work across all areas of the school with students who have moderate to severe language delays and concerns.

SC2 A sound knowledge of speech pathology techniques and the ability to develop, provide and evaluate speech pathology services and provide speech advice on appropriate intervention strategies.

SC3 Demonstrated ability to administer appropriate language assessment and provide advice to staff and families on program delivery and follow up.

SC4 Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively with a range of professionals, teachers and parents on service delivery and student based issues.

SC5 A commitment to professional learning and growth, including the delivery of professional development to others.

Role
Range 4 is distinguished by broader management responsibility, particularly in the areas of finance, human resource and other support functions. Range 4 is responsible for managing a range of functions under a wide range of conditions, subject to the size and complexity of school operations.

Objectives will, generally, be clearly defined; guidelines will be broad and day-to-day direction minimal. Management responsibility extends to ensuring appropriate support levels are maintained across the school. Range 4 generally provides key support and timely advice to the leadership team and school council and liaises with the general school community, the Department and other government agencies and service providers.

Specialised professional roles will carry a high level of independence and accountability where suitable scope is provided to achieve objectives.

An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee¿s position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate evidence of an appropriate speech pathologist qualification.

Provide assessment and prepare applications for individual funding for students.
Screen and/or assess students with language, literacy, pragmatic, fluency and other communicative difficulties.
Complete diagnostic and assessment result reports as per school requirements.
Liaising with other allied health and medical professionals as required.
Provide verbal or written assessment feedback to school staff and parents as appropriate.
Design and deliver inclusive speech therapy support and intervention in a school environment with implementation supported by teachers, ES staff, and relevant professionals.
Provide intervention/therapy to both individual students and groups as required.
Complete written progress notes in accordance with school requirements.
Provide frequent consultation with PSD/DI leaders, teachers, other professionals, staff, parents etc. about possible management strategies.
Provide informational guidelines and session exercises to school staff and parents as appropriate.
Liaise with teachers and provide advice on modifying learning tasks in order to best meet student needs.
Participate and attend SSG (Student Support Group) meetings as required.
Update and extend knowledge and skills repertoire regularly.
Other duties as required by the Principal, Director of Wellbeing or Director of Teaching & Learning.
