Sport for Social Development Supervisor

Location: MASRC Locations

Hours of Work: Full-time (35 hours per week)

Purpose

The Sport for Social Development (SSD) Supervisor plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality sport and recreation programming to promote wellness and social development in Indigenous communities. This position is responsible for building local capacity to sustain these initiatives long-term.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the full scope of SSD programming, including day-to-day operations.
Supervise SSD staff, providing training, mentorship, and performance management.
Manage the program budget and ensure responsible allocation of funds.
Coordinate and facilitate various sport and recreation initiatives, including the Urban Bike Program and the North-End Multi-Sport Program.
Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners to ensure program success.
Prepare and submit regular reports on program outcomes and performance.
Qualifications

Post-secondary education in Kinesiology, Recreation Management, Indigenous Studies, Social Work, Education, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience coordinating sport, recreation, or community-based programs.
A combination of relevant education and equivalent work experience will also be considered.
National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) certification (minimum Community Coach level; higher levels considered an asset).
Proven ability to develop, deliver, and evaluate sport/recreation programs.
Budget management and program reporting experience.
Experience working with Indigenous communities or Indigenous-led organizations preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Valid Class 5 driver’s license and willingness to travel within Manitoba.
