• Minimum 3 years experience in a progressive/ dynamic Microsoft SQL server environment including database backup/recovery, authentication, security, replication, and Always-On availability groups.
• Proven ability to research and expeditiously resolve complex database issues and failures. Well-developed analytical skills with the ability to deconstruct complex processes into discreet steps.
• Current experience with SQL Server performance tuning and monitoring in high-availability environments.
• Experience refactoring stored procedures/SQL statements from monolithic queries into better-performing, easier-to-maintain, simpler versions.
• Experience with developing, implementing and tuning components (i.e. stored procedures, triggers, databases scripts, backup/recovery processes, DTS / ETL / SSIS / SSRS packages, etc.).
• Experience in Data modeling and design including strong knowledge of T-SQL.
• Experience with cloud databases, AWS RDS or Azure SQL is a plus.
• Knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices.
• Proven technical documentation skills.
• Self motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
• In-depth knowledge of application change control processes.
• Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.
• Able to provide on-call support as needed.
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience. Microsoft DBA certifications are desirable.
