• Good understanding of the SQL Server database, Installation , configuration , related utilities and tools(SQL Server 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2026)
• Experience of cloud database migration and management
• Having experience on Database Build is must
• A good understanding of the underlying operating system(Windows, Unix and Linux)
• A good knowledge of the physical database design
• Ability to perform both SQL Server and operating system performance tuning and monitoring
• Knowledge of ALL SQL Server backup and recovery scenarios
• A good knowledge of SQL Server security management
• A good knowledge of how SQL Server acquires and manages resources
• A good knowledge SQL Server data integrity and Migration
• A good knowledge on backup and recovery
• A good knowledge and hands on experience on Clustering, Always On, Replication, Log shipping, Mirroring.
• A sound knowledge of both database and system performance tuning
• Should have sound communication skills with management, development teams, vendors and systems administrators
• Experience in Installation and applying patches.
• Very good SQL Server Cluster and Always On administration.
• Very Good hands on experience in application & DB tuning on standalone and cluster databases.
• Good knowledge in Windows PowerShell scripting.
• Very Good experience in SQL Server Backup and recovery.
• Exposure to SQL Server Security, Audit will be desired.
• Predicting future SQL Server trends for hardware usage and user load.
• Provide a strategic database direction for the organization
• Good exposure on T-SQL, SSIS Package, procedure, Views, Function, Business logic etc
• All the database restrictions for the applications.
That is so that the installation is still supportable and conforms to all vendor (SQL Server) requirements.
• Good understanding of backup and recovery & strong conceptual exposure for defining Backup/Retention strategy.
