SQL Database Admin - Fractal Analytics - Bengaluru/Mumbai
Job Description:
Responsibilities:
• Installing, configuring, monitoring, maintaining, and improving the performance of server, databases, and data stores.
• Monitor system's health and performance.
• User and access management on the server
• Analyze, solve, and troubleshoot issues in real time.
• Handling daily issues (Blocking, long running Transactions, Deadlocks, etc.)
• Troubleshoot issues related to TempDB, Transaction log and System databases.
• Automate SQL server tasks (SQL jobs, Windows scripts, etc.)
• Auditing database configuration and security configurations
• Handling general maintenance tasks including backups, index and statistics maintenance, consistency checking, patching etc.
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues
• Develops and configures tools to enable automation of database administration tasks.
• Monitor performance statistics and create reports.
• Capacity planning for database management, hardware upgrades.
• Identify and investigate complex problems and issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Perform routine configuration, installation, and reconfiguration of database related products.
Requirements
• 3 to 5 years overall experience in IT industry.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in Database Administration
• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, Information Technology, or other relevant fields
• Working knowledge of MSSQL Server,
• Experience in Troubleshooting and resolving performance issue.
• Experience in backup management and recovery
• Experience in optimizing queries and database objects.
• Experience in encryption
• Experience in upgrading SQL server software to new versions and applying service packs and patches.
• Experience with backups, restores and recovery, scheduling database backups, taking full and Transaction log backups.
• Good understanding on indexes and query run policies and alert mechanisms.
• Basic knowledge of SSIS & SSRS
• Hands on High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) like Always ON, Replication, Log shipping, Mirroring and Clustering
• Coding and scripting skills highly desirable
• Dealing directly with end-users and customers and have excellent communication skills.
