Job Details :
Senior Database Performance and Tuning Engineer who will work in collaboration with DB engineering team to investigating database Sql query problems, performance issues, and evaluating best practices to ensure optimal performance of various SQL queries
Requirements :
Candidates are required to have these mandatory skills to assess the eligibility of the profile.
The must have requirements are :
• Minimum 10 years of enterprise scale database administration and must be currently hands on SQLServer databases.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience with hardcore performance tuning. Expert in performance tuning for the databases of large to very large size.
• Experience of running and analyzing the Explain Plan and Query Plan
• Considerable experience and knowledge of MS SQL and best practices
• Proficiency with OLTP Database Environments
• Experience with distributed systems OLTP/DW MPP is a big plus, but not required
• Experience configuring and administering MS SQL replication and availability groups
• Experience designing, building, configuring, supporting, and maintaining complex Sql queries
• Experience managing SQL Server table partitioning
• Topnotch troubleshooting and analytical problemsolving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to document complex technical problems
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment, as well as independently with limited supervision
Roles and Responsibilities :
• Troubleshooting challenging performance issues and developing proactive measures and trend analysis
• Continuously optimizing query performance through troubleshooting and tuning
• Investigating potential problems and issues of SQL queries raised by users
• Work with engineering team to automate reactive procedures and promote rapid response to database performance issues
• Design and develop proactive tools and measures to optimize performance and take to the next level of scale
• Designing and developing SQL code as needed
• Interacting with users on educating and guiding them in query building and enhancing their existing queries
