A database administrator (DBA) is a person who is responsible for the environmental aspects of a database. In general, these include:
• Recoverability - Creating and testing Backups
• Integrity - Verifying or helping to verify data integrity
• Security - Defining and/or implementing access controls to the data
• Availability - Ensuring maximum uptime
• Performance - Ensuring maximum performance
• Development and testing support - Helping programmers and engineers to efficiently utilize the database.

Job Title Roles & Responsibilities:
• SQL Admin, TSQL, Performance Tuning, Power Scripting
• Worked in clustered SQL Server environments
• Experienced in setting up SQL Server Log Shipping and Replication
• Worked with 100GB+ SQL Server databases
• Windows batch file scripting
• Familiar with ETL tools like Informatica, Ab Initio, Sagent, etc.
• Familiar with MS Analysis Services
• Microsoft DBA Certifications (MCDBA) would be a plus.
Additional Requirement:
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Must be proactive and self-motivated
• Strong knowledge of architecture, core DBA skills for supporting database
• prepared to work in shifts as per the demands of our US customers and willingness to be on-call 24x7
• Possess excellent English communication skills, both verbal and writing skills.
• Good analysis and design capabilities
• Good email and Instant Messenger (IM) etiquette.
