Job Description
Due to availability of grants and scholarships, PC Professor is experiencing a large number of student enrollments and is in need of more instructors.
We are seeking a knowledgeable and engaging SQL Database Instructor to join our educational team to teach evening classes a couple of times per week. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL and database management, with experience teaching or presenting complex technical concepts in an accessible manner. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to students’ learning journeys by delivering high-quality instruction in SQL database fundamentals and advanced topics. Prior university experience is preferred, as it demonstrates familiarity with academic environments and curriculum development. The instructor will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging lessons, supporting student inquiries, and fostering a positive learning environment.
Duties
Develop comprehensive lesson plans covering SQL database concepts, including data modeling, querying, optimization, and security.
Deliver engaging lectures and hands-on training sessions to diverse student groups.
Assess student progress through assignments, quizzes, and projects, providing constructive feedback.
Assist students with practical exercises to reinforce learning objectives and troubleshoot technical issues.
Stay current with the latest developments in SQL technology and incorporate relevant updates into course materials.
Requirements
Proven expertise in SQL database management, including experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
Prior university or higher education teaching experience is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical topics clearly and effectively.
Expertise with:
Azure cloud concepts
Relational modeling concepts
Normalization (1NF–3NF, when to denormalize)
Entity relationships (1-to-many, many-to-many)
Keys (primary, foreign, surrogate)
Referential integrity
Indexing strategies as part of schema design
Passion for education and student success, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred; relevant industry certifications are a plus.
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
