Sr Accountant
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
• Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals.
• Prepare BAS/IAS, FBT and Payroll Tax
• Providing assurance about the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and their compliance with statutory requirements
• Oversee clients' bookkeeping and payroll processing.
• Conduct reconciliations and maintain accurate records.
• Communicate with clients regarding basic queries and document requests.
• Provide or Support Senior Accountant with tax planning for clients
• Stay updated with changes in tax legislation and accounting standards.
Bookkeeping & Transactional Accounting
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
• Monitor daily, monthly and quarterly bank reconciliations.
• Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance of accounting systems.
• Respond to daily emails from SME clients in relation to their accounts.
• Be incredibly detail oriented, prepared and willing to bring discrepancies or issues to the attention of senior staff members.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA/CA qualified (or working towards completion).
• Minimum 5+ years’ accounting experience across both transactional and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge and at least 3+ years’ of Australian accounting standards and taxation requirements.
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Xero, AccountKit, BGL)
• High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities.
