About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant who will be responsible for maintaining timely, accurate financial records and performing day-to-day activities and ad hoc projects for the accounting team. This position will take on various tasks to support the monthly closing process, such as account reconciliation, financial closing activities and other projects.
This role will also take part in compliance, interacting with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing scheduling for the reporting processes.
What you will do
• Assist the assistant controller with day-to-day, monthly, and year-end accounting operations of the Accounting/ Finance Department
• Own and maintain capitalization reporting and projects
• Own and maintain third-party royalty accounting process
• Ensure compliance and timely filing with secretary of state
• Ensure accurate, complete general ledger entries/reporting of payroll related transactions such as bi-weekly payroll, bonus, and commissions.
• Complete general ledger reconciliation as needed to support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Evaluate current accounting policies and procedures and update accordingly to maximize efficiency and turnaround times.
• Take ownership of ad-hoc projects as requested by senior management
• Provide resolutions of accounting issues with vendors and other crossed functional teams
• Assist greater Finance team in ad hoc projects
What you need to succeed
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration required
• 3+ years of relevant accounting experience required
• Experience with ERP systems is required (Preferably NetSuite)
• In-depth working knowledge of accounting principles, specifically US GAAP
• Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software/ databases; demonstrates intermediate to advanced Excel skills
