About the Role
As the first point of contact for the Dean, this position provides confidential senior level administrative and secretarial support for the Dean at both the Burnaby and Vancouver locations. This position coordinates various administrative activities for the Beedie School Dean and Associate Deans. Liaises with senior leadership, donors, media, alumni, international partners, faculty and staff. Interacts with and provides information to Beedie staff/faculty, Associate Deans, senor SFU academic/staff administrators, other academic institutions, accreditation organizations, students, donors and the business community. Working closely with the Dean's Office Manager, provides day to day operational support for the Office of the Dean, committee support, both logistical and administrative and is a key liaison with the various teams that support the Dean including, Finance, Faculty Support and Accreditation.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional with strong communication (verbal and written), organizational, and problem solving skills. Must have the ability to exercise mature judgment and initiative and be experienced in handling confidential/sensitive material with discretion, tact and diplomacy. The candidate must have the ability to work with frequent interruptions and work independently or as a member of a team to meet deadlines.
