About The Role
The role is based in the Pune R&D Center, at SAS R&D Pune facility. We are looking for Senior Associate Software Development Engineer in Test to test Forecasting product in the Analytics area. You will be a part of the Visual Forecasting testing team, working on new/existing software. You will design, build, and support scalable automated test frameworks, tools, and test suites to ensure quality within expected timelines during the development cycle.
Furthermore, you will be joining a friendly team with a broad range of experience. The Forecasting R&D team is laser-focused on making sure that we’re meeting customer expectations with solutions backed by modern methods and algorithms. We’re focused on continual improvement and building a world-class development culture. We seek to serve other groups within SAS R&D by always having an eye towards ways to deepen our integration with the SAS platform.
Essential Technology Experience
• At least 2 years of working experience in multi-tier application testing with an excellent understanding of software testing lifecycle
• Strong knowledge of automation testing with hands-on experience on automation testing tools
• Strong programming aptitude in any languages like SAS, Java, Groovy, Python, or any other programming/scripting language
• Working knowledge of Jenkins, Git, Gerrit
• Familiar with Agile methodology and with tools such as Jira, Confluence
• Experience on Windows as well Linux operating system with basic troubleshooting skills
Experience Of These Items Would Be Useful
• SAS programming skills will be a plus
• Knowledge of any public cloud providers like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud, etc.
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI, CD) model
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized deployments
• Knowledge of any test automation framework

Primary Responsibilities
• Testing of the Forecasting product across various layers like server, application, middle tier and UI following CI/CD model.
• Design, develop, maintain, execute test plans, scenarios, and processes.
• Automate tests; analyze test results to ensure existing functionality and recommend corrective action.
• Design, develop and execute high quality, flexible and scalable applications, frameworks, and tools in support of a variety of testing activities including those needed for continuous deployment pipeline.
• Creation and maintenance of test containers in the CI/CD pipeline.
• Track progress of individual tasks and communicate status and risks.
• Involve stakeholders to ensure testing tools satisfy requirements, software quality, and functionality.
• Actively participate in design and code reviews to maintain an elite level of code quality.
• Maintain an awareness of and research new technologies, trends, architectures, and implementation techniques as they relate to the delivery of applications, integrations, and data.
• Identify, track, and verify defects in the software.
• Perform Install & Deploy validations.
• Review relevant product documentation.
• Work closely with local as well as remote dev/test teams to ensure timely deliveries.
• Ability to communicate with people of a technical background, think analytically, write and edit technical material, and the ability to write and present clearly on technical matters in a business context
