Job Description
Your responsibilities
• You will be the rockstar engineer capable of working independently by designing, coding, and/or configuring solutions for moderate to high complexity problems.
• You will debug and resolve software bugs or issues, find the real root cause and provide a fix without collateral damage.
• You will write automated unit, integration-level tests and UI level tests to ensure a high level of quality is maintained.
• You follow development standards and effectively demonstrate technical solutions to other software engineers in code reviews or demos.
• You will perform source code management tasks without specific guidance required from other team members.
• You will participate in all software support related activities including daily standup, meetings, prioritization, work planning, and update reviews.
• You will collaborate with architects and other developers in helping to create conceptual design/architecture for small scale software solutions.
• You will help your teammates accomplish their sprint objectives. You will collaborate with other functions such as product, UX, partner success, business and operations team as required to ensure the success of your feature or product.
• You will help in attracting and evaluating tech talent to help build the engineering brand of the organisation.
Desired background & skills
• 3-6 years of experience as an engineer at top tier digital product companies across consumer or SMB.
• Experience coding simple technical solutions for complex problems - highly scalable service-oriented architectures, distributed cloud-based systems handling large amounts of data and concurrency.
• Strong problem solving skills, data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with distributed systems
• Good understanding of Web Technologies.
• Excellent coding skills in one of the languages Java/GoLang/Kotlin.
• Knowledge of all relevant frameworks and design patterns.
• Understanding of HTML / CSS / Angular / ReactJS Frontend technologies.
• Experience with DevOps techniques and philosophies. Experience with Virtualization and Docker, as well as CI/CD automation
• Databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL and cloud-based relational database solutions like Amazon RDS, database replication and scalability
• Passion to work in an exciting, fast paced environment.
• Conscientious, curious, hard-working individual who craves accountability and loves to solve complex problems.
