Data Analytic Engineer
The Role
We are looking for an Analytics Engineer to join our growing tech organization. Buy Box Experts is an organization that is built on data, but we’re just getting started. This role will play an important part in guiding us to a future where self-service reporting and analytics scale and change at the quickening pace of our business. This role is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of effective self serve reporting including: defining and delivering the tools and education to enable data-driven decision making across the company. As an Analytics Engineer, you will play a key role in making sure we have the right data available in the best format via our self-serve tools to enable this. At the moment, core reports are built-in Google Data Studio, but we would love you to evolve and suggest new tooling as the business grows. Your first 100 days will see you jumping headfirst into a reporting automation project. You will be responsible for prototyping improving, and productionizing reports that Buy Box Experts currently generates manually for its clients. You will collaborate directly with product managers, engineers, and senior stakeholders to ensure that reporting is relevant, accurate, and actionable. The goal is that your work creates a scalable data foundation, as well as the initial end-user designs, for Buy Box Experts to create dashboards that are embedded in a proprietary software platform
Core skills and experience:
● Analytical way of thinking and capability, with exposure from a previous role
● Strong experience with data modelling, creating reports and data visualizations.
● SQL experience for manipulation and analysis. Experience in other data languages (R, Python) a plus but not required.
● Collaboration and communication skills - you’ll be just as comfortable talking to an engineer as you would be to the CMO
● Experience working with or understanding marketing / commercial/ finance teams
● Experience with cloud BI Visualization tools such as Mode or Looker, bonus for Google Data Studio
● A creative / lateral thinking problem solver- understanding when a hack will do and how to deliver 80% value ahead of a fully perfect solution
● Nice-to-haves: prior experience modelling data in dbt (data build tool
