Job Overview

As a Senior Data Engineer for the Product Innovation Team, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines and architectures that power data-driven products and insights. Working at the intersection of product and engineering, you will collaborate closely with product managers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-performance data solutions across cloud, on-premise, and hybrid environments. You’ll be responsible for architecting and implementing robust data infrastructure to support data mone tization strategies, ensuring data is accessible, reliable, privacy compliant, and well-structured for advanced analytics and machine learning applications.

As a Sr. Engineer, you will mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers to help develop and enhance our collective skill set.

Experience in advertising or digital media is a strong plus, especially familiarity with data pipelines and architectures that support targeting, measurement, or optimization use cases.
Job Responsibilities:

Develop data engineering solutions, including data pipelines, visualization and analytical tools
Design and develop data architectures in on-premise, cloud and hybrid platforms
Data wrangling of heterogeneous data, exploration and discovery in pursuit of new business insights
Actively contribute to the team’s knowledge and drive new capabilities forward
Mentor other team members in their efforts to build data engineering skillsets
Assist team management in defining projects, including helping estimate, plan and scope work
Prepare and contribute to presentations required by management

Education and Work Experience:

Bachelor's Degree Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a related subject area or equivalent experience (Required)
5 years developing cloud solutions using data series; experience with cloud platforms (Amazon Web Services, Azure, or Google Cloud) Required
Hands-on development using and migrating data to cloud platforms Required
Experience in SQL, NoSQL, and/or relational database design and development Required
Advanced knowledge and experience in building complex data pipelines with Python, Experience in languages such as SQL, DAX Python, Java, Scala, and/or Go Required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Analytical approach to problem-solving; ability to use technology to tackle business problems (Preferred)
Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable ‘big data’ data stores (Preferred)
Ability to manage work across multiple projects, good organizational skills (Preferred)
Passionate about learning new technologies (Preferred)

Licenses and Certifications:

Cloud platform certification(s) i.e. AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) (Preferred)

Base Pay Range: $105,100 - $189,600
Corporate Bonus Target: 15%
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
