We are seeking a Pune, India based Sr. Database Developer to join our Corporate Financial Systems team in Global Technology & Operations.
The Sr. Database Developer will be involved in all phases of the software development lifecycle as a team lead and individual contributor for Commissions Processing and Private Client Billing (PCB), two key Finance applications. This role will require interaction with the other onshore/offshore team members, service providers and with our Corporate Finance business team.
The individual will be responsible for development, support, and maintenance of our Sales Compensation processing and the Private Wealth Client Billing application.
Sales Compensation processing involves calculation & reporting of sales compensation for each of our distribution channels – Private Wealth, Institutional and Retail. Each area is supported by its own independent proprietary application that is developed using MS SQL/.Net/C# technologies. The batch processing system also employs Perl on Linux. The Private Wealth Sales Compensation system is on a migration path to a vendor hosted system requiring implementation of new data interfaces between AB and the vendor system.
Private Client Billing involves calculation & invoicing of Private Wealth client management fees. The business process is supported by a combination of proprietary and vendor solutions developed using Oracle/Java technologies. All proprietary applications are on a migration path to MS SQL/.Net/C# platform.
The applications collate Revenue, Cashflow and Assets Under Management (AUM) from upstream systems to carry out their calculations.
The key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Develop, support, and maintain the Sales Compensation and Private Wealth Client Billing systems.
• Collaborate with business clients and other Corporate Finance technology onshore/offshore teams to help design, develop, and implement technology solutions.
• Interface with other development teams as required
• Comply with program source code control, defect tracking, application development life cycle, and all other departmental processes and procedures strictly adhering to standard firmwide SDLC policies.
• Support, maintain, and document application functionality, software testing and quality assurance.
• Solicit and clearly document business requirements to be developed by yourself/team.
• Participate in design/code reviews and project planning.
• Ensure key technical and implementation risks are understood and addressed.
• Willing to learn new technologies and methodologies related to software development.
• Participate in the hiring and mentoring of new team members.
Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s in computer science or a related field.
• 4-7 years of experience in SQL server design/development/testing and production support.
• Strong MS SQL Server development skill set is a must.
• Solid logical, analytical, and programming skills coupled with experience supporting multiple environments.
• Experience working on large multitier database/data-warehouse applications with batch processing.
• Experience with database performance tuning, exception handling and troubleshooting.
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure data warehouse technologies a plus.
• Ability to work and communicate effectively across diverse technical and business teams.
• Client service oriented.
