The Senior Director of Global Events and Strategy is a visionary leader who will own the strategy, planning, and optimization of Illumio’s global events, sponsorships, and internal company events. This role is integral to accelerating Illumio’s market penetration and driving brand recognition in a rapidly growing cybersecurity market. Reporting directly to the VP of Corporate Marketing, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact events that support brand awareness, lead generation, and customer loyalty.
You will lead a global team focused on creating, executing, and optimizing Illumio’s event strategy to ensure seamless execution, maximum ROI, and measurable impact on our business objectives. From internal events to large-scale third-party industry conferences, this role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership and project management skills who can collaborate across teams to drive results.
Your Impact:
• Strategic Planning: Develop and execute integrated event strategies that align with Illumio’s overall marketing and business objectives, ensuring that every event and program supports brand growth and customer engagement.
• Event Management: Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of global events, including internal company events, sponsorships, and major third-party industry conferences (e.g., RSA, Black Hat). Manage the event lifecycle from conceptualization to post-event analysis, ensuring seamless execution.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with product marketing, field marketing, brand marketing, sales, and customer success teams to ensure alignment and integration across marketing initiatives. Support these teams with insights and resources to enhance campaign success.
• Budget Management: Oversee the global events and sponsorship budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to maximize ROI and meet business goals.
• Vendor and Partner Management: Build and maintain relationships with event vendors, agencies, and strategic partners to enhance event execution, secure sponsorship opportunities, and optimize the use of resources.
• Metrics and Analytics: Establish KPIs to measure the effectiveness of events and sponsorships. Use data and analytics to continuously improve event strategies and demonstrate their impact to senior leadership.
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global team of events professionals. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement with career growth in mind.
Your Toolkit:
• 15+ years of marketing experience in B2B, ideally in the cybersecurity or SaaS space, with at least 10 years in senior leadership roles focused on global events.
• Proven experience in developing and executing event strategies that drive pipeline generation, customer engagement and brand awareness.
• A deep understanding of the role of events in supporting demand generation and ABM motions across various customer segments.
• A proven ability to lead global teams and manage large-scale budgets while driving high ROI.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
• Willingness to travel internationally as needed to collaborate with global teams and attend key industry events.
• Skilled at communicating complex ideas clearly and persuasively to a variety of audiences. A strong influencer with the ability to inspire cross-functional teams and lead change.
• Leverages analytics to optimize campaigns, drive strategic decisions, and deliver measurable results.
• Creative and strategic thinker who can develop new, inspirational programs that align with business priorities and deliver results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Compensation:
$ 22+,000 USD - $275,000 USD
