Job Overview
This individual will be responsible to support accounting operations in India Finance teams with innovation, ensuring compliance with General Mills accounting policies and will be responsible for flawless service delivery in a consistent and standardized manner for various locations.
Job Responsibilities
65% of Time
• Maintain track of all the tasks and ensure all SLAs are met.
• Ensure all the accounting tasks are performed within set timeliness with 100% accuracy.
• End to end bank reconciliation for 20+ bank accounts for India location.
• Downloading Bank statements from Bank website (Online/Offline), Updating them in Master sheet, preparing tracker of the transaction, Posting Receipts/Payments/Sweep entries and finalizing BRS.
• Preparation of MIS Report on weekly basis on Open BRS Items, Entries reflecting in Bank but not accounted, Funds in transit.
• Research & resolve discrepancies and issue.
• Ensure no open items in BRS before uploading schedules on blackline portal.
• Maintaining various accounting tracker such as lease tracker, Duty drawback tracker.
• Support business continuity to meet critical business objectives & Partnership work as a team to achieve goals.
• Follow internal controls in accordance with company policies and authority delegation matrix.
• Month end /JC end activities and closing are done on time.
• Partner with the respective teams/ Finance Analyst for all type of Audits.
• Ensure clear process documentation is in place, utilized & updated in timely manner.
• Collaborate with the India Finance Analyst, stakeholders, bank representative to ensure smooth functioning of the business.
25% of Time
• Monthly preparation for GL schedules
• Identify, initiate, & implement process improvement ideas, Initiate & implement macros in process to track execution data using tools like MS-Access, Excel.
• Actively participate in team or site events/initiatives.
10% of Time
• Help develop clear standardized processes.
• Leverage CI tools and automation to initiate/lead projects to increase efficiency.
Desired Profile
Education
Minimum Degree Requirements: Bachelors
Preferred Degree Requirements: Masters
Preferred Major Area of Study: Accountancy, Auditing & Taxation
Experience
Minimum years of related experience required: 2-3 years
Preferred years of related experience: 4-5 years
Specific Job Experience or Skills Needed
- Has worked in Indian Accounting process.
- Has knowledge of Indian Tax laws
- Has worked on physical documents/ scan documents and maintenance of same.
- Can prioritize and complete multiple tasks on tight deadlines.
- Self-starter with ability to work independently under pressure and reacts quickly to changing priorities.
- Strong knowledge with advanced MS Office computer skills preferred (i.e., Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
- Flexible approach to working hours.
