Part of Internal Audit (IA) and reporting to Senior Manager, Audit – Information Technology (IT), the Senior Analyst, Audit IT will be responsible for testing and execution of internal controls of organization as per audit scope. The role of Senior Analyst should be able to work within a team environment to ensure IT controls are appropriately tested; controls identified to mitigate related risk are adequate; and controls are operating effectively. The team member would be reviewing, and testing Information Technology General Controls, Information Technology Automated Controls, Information Produced by the Entity or data used in controls validation and digitization and participating in automation projects. This instrumental position will work closely with the lines of business, business risk officers, and leaders across IA (3rd Line of Defence), 2nd Line of Defence and 1st line of Defence.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Part of Internal Audit (3rd Line of Defence), team will be responsible to participate as audit staff and also participate as AIC (Audit In Charge) as per audit scope and requirements.
• Review, Test and Validate on-going assessments of internal control and verify related risks are appropriately identified, understand and review controls are designed to mitigate related risks, and controls are operating effectively in accordance with COSO 2013 and COBIT principles. Familiarity with SOX controls will be an advantage.
• Participate and manage walkthrough discussions with process and control owners to assess inherent risks, identify controls and control gaps.
• Coordinate and complete control testing for Walkthrough, initial, roll-forward, and remediation phases. Testing includes, obtaining populations and validating the completeness and accuracy, making samples selections based on SOX sampling methodology, and performing appropriate testing steps to confirm the control is operating as designed and related data is complete and accurate.
• Participate and collaborate with key stakeholders including external audit, business risk officers, process owners, and control owners.
• Track status to the plan and report delays to supervisor and assist with management reporting and communicate any changes proactively to supervisor(s).
• At the direction of supervisor, assist and support with special projects to ensure internal controls over financial reporting compliance is obtained
• Contribute to any other projects or risk related activities as required
Preferred Experience/Qualifications:
• 3+ years related experience in the financial services industry strongly preferred
• Solid understanding of internal audit and IT control concepts and experience in ITGC, ITAC and EUC testing required
• Robust understanding of Information Technology Risks Management, including but not limited to cyber security, cloud, ITGC, Interface and Configuration Design, Automation and Automated control Interface.
• Self-starter and disciplined team player who proactively will reach out as needed
• Resilient self-starter who is comfortable pivoting often and learning continuously
• Ability to work tight timelines and manage multiple competing priorities while delivering sound results
• Focused and confident while interacting with senior external and internal stakeholder
• Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills required
• Strong individual contributor with the ability to work effectively with a global team
• Progressive experience in a combination of public accounting (Big 4 or large regional accounting firm) with an internal audit background in financial services is highly desirable
Education/Certification
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, finance, or related field required
• Professional Certification such as a CIA, or CISA preferred
