Job Description
Minimum 4-6 years of experience in software technical writing of Installation Guides, Release Notes, Administration Guides, Online Help, User Guides, Web Pages, etc.
With Educational Background B.E. / B.Tech / MCA / Bachelors in Communication / Masters degree in English, Technical Writing or equivalent (with min. 60% in all qualifying exams).
Job Description Summary
Creates, develops, plans, writes and edits operational, instructional, maintenance or test procedures for paper, multimedia or web-based publication. Conducts interviews with various users and technical staff to gather data for documentation. Researches and translates technical information into manuals and/or web-based documents for non-technical and technical users. May document engineering processes and specifications. Recommends formats responsive to technical and customer requirements. Produces products that conform to the company documentation and quality assurance standards.
• Work with engineering, quality, product management, release management, and other subject matter experts to develop user-task-based documentation including conceptual overviews, step-by-step instructions, configuration requirements, and UX microcopy for application UI.
• Actively participate in internal projects aimed at improving the Plex documentation site features and user experience.
• Continuously improve content based on feedback from internal and external users.
• Create a variety of learning assets including text, graphics, charts, diagrams, animations, and videos.
• Adhere to internal content development style guide and information model.
• Bring innovative approaches to problem solving, develop and propose new ideas, and actively participate in improving the quality of our content.
Role Description Summary
This position will report to the Information Development Manager. This individual contributor must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal. The individual will develop and document technical content that describes the software applications. This person will test and execute the software installation guides and report any anomalies using Jira.
This individual will participate peer reviews of documentation content for quality and accuracy and provide weekly status and meet regularly with group. This individual should have the ability to quickly understand, install and test new software. This individual should be able to translate complex and technical information for customers who have nontechnical backgrounds. Working with Agile methodologies also a plus.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum 4-6 years of experience in software technical writing of Installation Guides, Release Notes, Administration Guides, Online Help, User Guides, Web Pages, etc.

• Strong Communication Skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Acrobat, Snagit, Paint, video recording tools, virtual images, Windows and Linux Operating Systems
• Excellent experience as an effective technical writer, preferably in an agile development environment
• Working knowledge of MadCap Flare or AEM and similar structured authoring tools and content management systems
• Working knowledge of Jira and Confluence, or similar platforms
• Experience with common style guides such as Chicago Manual of Style, and Microsoft Manual of Style
• Multimedia development
• Have a positive, can-do attitude; be enthusiastic about learning new technologies
• Proficient in using documentation templates and style guidelines to develop documentation that has a consistent visual and structural approach.
• Knowledge on CMS administration
• Working knowledge of structured authoring, DITA, CMS, and XML
Skills – Desirable
• Apply expertise in technical communication practices to improve processes like Document Development, Maintenance and Support.
• Expert in information design and structured authoring.
• Troubleshoot issues with publishing tools without support from other team members.
• Exposure to Programming.
• Experience working with US teams.
• Ability to work smart, ability to work under pressure.
