About the role
• This position will focus on new development/maintenance of Database Administration of applications.
• Seasoned Software Engineering professional, working independently.
• Conducts moderately complex tests and debugs control and diagnostic systems.
• Undertakes multidisciplinary research, and works on system capabilities analysis to determine end-user needs.
As a Sr. Lead Engineer - Azure SQL DBA, you will...
• You will be a key contributor to the design, development, and implementation of Database for Enterprise applications.
• Be required to work under minimal direction in collaboration with a team of engineers to design and develop robust Database Admin solutions that meet defined system requirements
• Be responsible for assisting with schema design, code review, and SQL query tuning.
• Be installing, tuning, implementing and upgrading DBMS installations.
• Be required to write and deploy SQL patches.
• Be expected to set and maintain database standards.
• Be required to upgrade and improve application schema and data upgrades.
• Be responsible for proactively and regularly making recommendations for system improvements
• Be creating and managing database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.

• You should be a hands-on technical leader working closely with your peers in engineering, product management, and senior management in the company to deliver best-of-breed solutions with your technical stewardship.
• You will be responsible for the below critical functions in helping us design leading products.
• Strong experience with database query languages such as PL/SQL.
• Strong experience in administering, managing, and tuning databases
• Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards.
• Strong Communication and interpretation skills.
• Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling.
• Good understanding of data, schema standards, and concepts.
• Good understanding of database design, implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Impeccable attention to detail, Good time-management skills.
• Maintains solid relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
• Stays abreast of technology developments and their potential impact and opportunities on the organization.
• Proactively identifies, recommends, and implements improvements.
• Be available for on-call support as needed.
Requirements:
• BE/B.Tech/M.Tech/MCA
• Must have 8-10 years relevant experience in managing the DBA activities that includes Architecture, Implementation, Troubleshooting and Monitoring of Microsoft SQL Server.
• Azure SQL PaaS experience, along with on-prem DBa(administrator) capabilities.
• Scripting language experience such as PowerShell, SQL Scripting.
• Familiarity with SSAS, SSIS, SSRS.
• Ability to administer and manage the database for On-prem and Cloud environments.
• Strong experience on Azure DB resource management
• Demonstrated experience on setting up the Always-on with Multi locations (Cloud and On-Prem), Clustering, Data Sync and Indexing.
• Strong analytics and troubleshooting skills for managing the incident response on production environment.
• Ability to setup the monitoring & alerting on sql transactions (having SentryOne is added advantage).
• Should have working experience on SQL Always-on, Data sync with Azure.
• Experience of working in an Agile environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer focus and ability to think about the impact of actions on the customer.
Preferred• Familiarity with DevOps
