SCHEDULE: Full-time; Shifts vary
LOCATION: Carson City, NV
REPORTS TO: Director of Operations

HEALTH BENEFITS: 1st of the month following 60 days from hire date

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:

The Sr Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for shift crew scheduling and PM compliance and is the technical subject matter expert on trouble shooting failures. The Sr Maintenance Mechanic performs and teaches other mechanics during emergency repairs on various types of machinery, including mechanical, electrical and hydraulic and identifies and replaces worn or damaged parts in a timely manner with the goal of eliminating emergency repairs and creating a world class preventative maintenance system.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

· Ensures safety compliance with maintenance team by adhering to safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, while working on machinery.

· Ensures strict adherence to preventative maintenance program reviewing and coaching mechanics on PM completion by regularly inspecting and servicing machinery

· Subject matter expert in fabrication skills: Must be experience in welding, cutting, or bending metal to repair or modify equipment parts in a food facility.

· Subject matter expert in technical knowledge: Understanding mechanical principles, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and relevant industry standards.

· Adherence to GMP and Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards for maintenance

· Subject matter expert troubleshooting and repair: Diagnosing mechanical issues, dismantling equipment to access faulty parts, replacing worn components, reassembling machinery to restore functionality, recommending preventative maintenance measures to prevent unplanned failure, creating technical trouble shooting guides and training for other mechanics.

· Highly skilled in teaching mechanics and technicians and has effective communication style in a hands on environment

· Documentation: Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used in compliance with CMMS policies and procedures.

· Responsible for maintenance teams overall performance on documentation

· Strong working knowledge of tools, common manufacturing machines and devices

· Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills

· Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime

· High school diploma or equivalent; Certificate in electrical or relevant field will be a plus

· Proven experience as maintenance mechanic in food and beverage industry with 15 plus years of experience

· Observing mechanical devices in operation to locate the sources of problems and ensure the proper functioning of the machines

· Inspect the cleaning and lubricating of the equipment and machinery and provides coaching to mechanics

· Maintaining a safe and clean working environment for everyone

· Collecting and summarizing analyses, activity logs, and trends for maintenance reports

· Ability to report to work and on time, as scheduled.

· Adheres to all safety measures and protocols.

· Other duties may be assigned.

Shifts:

Flexibility to cover all shifts during Production hours.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

· Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, including wet and/or humid conditions, and heat and cold.

· The noise level in the warehouse environment is usually moderate and quiet in the office.

· Near moving mechanical parts and/or machinery and occasionally exposed to burn hazards.

· Exposed to protected and unprotected heights, which requires the use of a personal fall protection system (harness/lifeline).

· Occasionally exposed to vibration and fumes or airborne particles which will require the use of personal protective equipment including respirators; flame retardant clothing; self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), etc.
• Frequently sit, stand, or walk for a minimum of 8-hour shifts, including walking long distances and on uneven ground
• Frequently climb stairs and ladders, balance and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and maneuver in awkward positions
• Frequently lift objects of up to 25 - 50 pounds in weight and carry objects of up to 25 – 50 pounds in weight. Occasionally the employee will have to push or pull objects of up to 25 pounds in weight
• Talk & hear; use hands & fingers; handle & feel; and able to reach with hands and arms extensively
• Vision requirements for this position include close vision, color vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
