TITLE: Sr Manager, Conference & Banquet Operations
LOCATION: Snowbird Resort
STATUS: Salaried, Full-Time
SCHEDULE: Varied hours and times of the day/evening: weekdays, weekends and holidays
SUMMARY
As Sr Manager, Conference & Banquet Operations we are seeking an energetic and well-organized manager to provide our customers with a first-class conference & banquet experience. This position will be responsible for training the banquet team and overseeing the execution of events per the Banquet Event Orders. You will work closely with the Conference Services and Culinary teams to provide an exceptional experience for booked events. Your duties will include controlling the cost and quality of services, preparing the venue, and coordinating the service of meals.
WHAT YOU’LL DO

Answering customers' questions and accommodating special requests.
Support, lead, and direct the Banquet Management Team and supervisors and their teams, with a focus on providing consistent and timely services and support to the groups and businesses using our conference facilities, and quality and consistent catering (food and service) to each customer group.
Provide, feedback, instruction and direction to the Banquet Team.
Sustains and increases productivity in the department to always assure client satisfaction and professionalism.
Manages, trains and leads the department staff to ensure client satisfaction and performance. Acts as liaison between Conference Services/Catering Managers and Banquet Team to operate the department efficiently and effectively.
Available for staff and clients to support them in resolving any problems or conflicts to maximize guest satisfaction.
Be familiar with all services and products at primary and secondary competitors to maintain Snowbird as a competitive choice for the client.
Maintenance and care of equipment and supplies.
Ensure training for all managers and staff.
Planning the venue layout according to the number of guests and the type of event.
Determining the number of table waiters and servers required.
Supervising the placement of tables, chairs, cutlery, plates, glasses, table linens, centerpieces, heating lamps, serving utensils, and carving stations.
Consulting with the Executive Chef regarding the timing of meal courses to be served.
Overseeing the seating of guests, the serving of meals and beverages, and the clearing of tables.
Preparing work schedules and completing documentation in a timely manner.
WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
3-5 years of experience in banquet management, or similar.
Proficiency in catering management software, such as Amadeus Sales and Catering.
Exceptional ability to plan banquets and meet deadlines.
Experience in supervising banquet venue staff.
Extensive knowledge of catering equipment and venue requirements.
In-depth knowledge of hospitality industry best practices.
WORK SCHEDULE
Shifts vary, from early morning to late evening, weekends, holidays depending on business requirements.
Requires weekend/holiday availability.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, including trays, tables, chair stacks and other banquet set up items
Standing for Long Periods: Must be able to stand for extended periods during various activities such as banquet set up.
Bending, Kneeling, Reaching, and Grasping: Must be able to perform these movements to handle all banquet set up needs.
Exposure to Cold and Extreme Weather: Work is indoors on majority of occasions but walking between buildings and event sites might require being outside in cold, snowy, icy conditions.
Frequent Interruptions: Ability to maintain focus and accuracy in an environment with frequent interruptions, guest/staff interactions and unpredictable situations.
