About role:
We are looking for an experienced and passionate technology specialist having strong technical and customer facing skills and who can work and grow within a dynamic and highly skilled professional team providing application & database management services.
Requirement:
• Multiple Database landscapes owner and focal point
• Delivery planning using global delivery teams/Architecting/solutioning DB migration, upgrade, implementation, and steady state support models.
• Various technical services delivery for multiple DB landscape such as: ORACLE, EXADATA, DB2, SYBASE, SQL, MYSQL, POSTGRESS, etc
• Implementation of Monitoring platform for database services
• Managing DB alerts on database anomalies & Incidents
• Support team in routine health and Integrity Checks
• DB Backup management services, Implementation of Best practices optimizations
• Performance Baseline Tuning – optimization and diagnostics
• High Availability & Disaster Recovery (HA & DR) Implementation
• Installation & Upgrades (Including OS tuning)
• Ensuring a future-proof architecture
• Capacity planning
• Homogeneous Data Replication services
• Data Migration services
• Basic DB management Scripting & Automation
• Security & Compliance Checks & DB Hardening
• Auditing setup and support
• User Access Management & support
• Trusted customer adviser for an optimal and efficient DB migrations, implementations, and operations on Public/Private Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)
• Basic knowledge on SAP on AWS and SAP on Azure
• Mentor to Jr team for building DB management skills and services portfolio using provided Academy model for organic growth.
MUST HAVE
• 10 to 12 years or higher of strong technical experience in database management services for platforms - ORACLE,EXADATA,DB2,SYBASE,SQL,MYSQL,POSTGRESS, etc
• Experience in day-to-day Exadata DMA activities.
• Knowledge of ASM related activities.
• Very thorough and clear understanding of Oracle Database Architecture - including the latest version of Oracle 11g, 12c & 1+c)
• RAC, ASM, Exadata, Performance tuning
• DB Technical architecting – On Prem and Public Cloud
• DB Management Services - technical account management
• Operational expertise to run Enterprise Class DBs on Cloud Platform
• DB Technical Landscape ownership & support management
• Strong technical background for overall DB Administration services
• Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field or higher
• Excellent communication skills in English - verbal and written.
• Certifications in database administration & DB management on cloud platforms
• Experience with Managed services Providers on Cloud platform is desirable.
NICE TO HAVE
• Ability to negotiate and communicate with other product support partners like SAP Microsoft, Oracle, IBM
• Strong presentation/communication/facilitation skills (oral and written)
• Must be well organized, detail oriented and capable of juggling numerous priorities.
• Works well with teams or in a team environment, with the ability to work independently.
• Primary contact for DB Management services for set of DB landscapes.
• Overall responsible for managed services SLAs like availability (proactive monitoring), Incident resolutions as per Protera SLAs, System recoverability (100%) - Backups & DR
• Prepare and manage customer specific technical procedures.
• Prepare and present Protera standard Monthly reports with interactive discussions and detailed analysis on important KPI / Exceptions
• Organize and drive ad-hoc customer meetings for managed services delivery.
• Constantly improve, continuous education and keeping up to date with the rapidly evolving Database Products industry.
• Ability to participate in projects across various teams, cultures, geographies, and time zones
• .Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Innovative problem solving & analytical skills.
• Can provide mentorship to Jr. DBAs and other colleagues for DBA related technical skills.
• Experience in any other classic RDBMS platform such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Sybase, SAP HANA will be plus.
