DESCRIPTION
The Regulatory Intelligence, Safety and Compliance (RISC) team's charter is to protect Amazon customers from products that are illegal, illegally marketed, unsafe, or otherwise prohibited by Amazon policies. Sr Risk Manager will own implementing proactive controls on a category and work on achieving parity WW. In this role, you will work closely with corporate counsel, legal, business teams, selling partner experience and support teams, operational excellence, product, BI and data science/engineering teams to deliver high-impact end to end product safety solutions. Think of this role as a non-technical “solution architect” where you will be given the autonomy to develop a strategy and build effective controls to ensure WW customer safety.

Key job responsibilities
The successful candidate should have strong business, communication, and writing skills, proven ability to drive solutions to mitigate risk, and be capable of working independently in an ambiguous environment.

The successful candidate will also:
Develop and implement novel solutions to triage and investigate risk reports from product experts
Partner with external industry leaders and product experts
Collaborate across cross functional teams – legal, operations, business, finance, data, and tech teams to continuously improve the program
Deep Dive industry and expert reports of potential emerging risks
Provide data-driven and actionable insights to senior stakeholders to influence roadmaps and align on solutions
Plan and conduct periodic business reviews with leadership team
Embrace the use of data analytics to drive solutions, track improvements and reduce costs to serve
Manage several projects simultaneously with precision and accuracy
Develop key metrics and performance indicators to track progress against business objectives and measure results

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Experience building cross-functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders across the organization to act without having a direct reporting relationship
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
6+ years of program management experience from beginning to end
Experience working with data, and making data driven decisions
Experience handling confidential information
Demonstrated experience setting direction and delivering detail-oriented results in environments with frequently shifting priorities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience
Experience in operations, investigations, risk management, incident or crisis management, or handling escalations
Master's degree or equivalent
Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to clearly communicate complex and technical subject matter to a diverse group of stakeholders
Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
Experience at consulting firms or equivalent
Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials
Experience working with geographically distributed teams within a complex international organization

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
