About the job
The position is for a frontend focused Senior Developer to work on mainly greenfield development projects to build new server less microservice based cloud applications in AWS.
Currently we are in the middle of a large program to migrate from monoliths with large areas of overlapping functionality to a capability-based model, which can scale and adapt to an ever faster changing educational landscape.
We’d expect that you’ll have several years of relevant experience working on React frontend and/or backend, developing solutions that provide real benefit to users, and ideally working in an Agile project delivery environment using Scrum or Kanban, although this is not essential.
Key Skills & Experience
• Building frontend application using React ideally with TypeScript
• Applying the latest best practices for React application development
• Strong UI design skills and understanding of a good user experience
• Experience in using Web APIs to build web single page applications
• Knowledge of accessibility standards
• Unit testing experience (Jest, React Testing Library).
• Persisting data using relational (SQL) and/or document database
• Working with product owner and business analyst to refine and estimate requirements
• Applying development methodologies like TDD and CI/CD pipelines
• Working with the project managers, product owners and operation team to ensure application are successfully delivered to production
• Providing production support to application
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
