Job Title: Data & Analytics – Snowflake Architect

Data & Analytics CoE is a diverse team of technology enthusiast enabling our global business. JCI has embarked on a Data strategy that focuses on establishing strong technology CoE, enterprise data management & cloud-based business solutions.

Snowflake Architect is an integral part of Technical Architecture team. This role will be based out of Pune, India, reporting into Technical Architect Lead. They will be responsible for defining the solution architecture for applications utilizing Snowflake and related data tools.

How You Will Do It
• Lead our engagements in providing solutions utilizing Snowflake.
• Define standards and best practices for utilizing Snowflake and ensure these standards are implemented and maintained.
• Provide technical guidance and advice to help in the design and development of Snowflake.
• Establish business self-service capabilities within Snowflake platform.
• Collaborate with various business groups to help define needs and translate into solutions.
• Design & develop scalable frameworks for implementing Snowflake based solutions.
• Research, analyze and help implement technical approaches for solving sophisticated development and integration problems, providing a strategy and roadmap.
• Coaching, mentoring, leading, and presenting solutions for end users, dev teams and management.
• Liaise with Snowflake Support and SMEs in the escalation and resolution of platform and product issues.
• Work collaboratively with all levels of stakeholders to architect, implement and test analytical solutions from disparate sources.
• Demonstrate an understanding of concepts, best practices, and functions to implement analytical solutions in an enterprise environment.
• Establish, maintain, adhere, and enforce Snowflake Platform Standards and Policies.
• Be an expert in Snowflake Architecture and make recommendations for architecting solutions using platform
• Monitor environment ensuring platform stability and identify performance bottleneck for resolution
• Build performing data with Table Distribution and Index types
• Partition tables using partitioning strategy
• Creating and optimizing star schema models
• Configure and manage workload classification and resource classes
• Build ingesting pipelines with ADF to load and export data (best practices)

What We Look For
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent discipline.
• 8-12 years of experience with database design, at least 5 years with Azure technologies.
• Minimum of 5 years with implementation and operational support of Snowflake platform or with its complementary technologies: Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure SQL Data Warehouse (SQLDW), Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Blob Storage, SQL Database, Apache Spark, Azure Synapse Analytics
• Advanced knowledge of SQL, including ability to write stored procedures, triggers, analytic functions, and tuning
• Knowledge or relational and dimensional database structures, theories, principals, and practice
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• Ability to effectively function in a global cross-team environment

Technology Requirement
• Snowflake, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure HD Insight, Azure SQL Database, Azure DevOps
• Azure Analysis Services & Power BI skills are a plus
• Object Oriented Programming skill using Java, Python and .Net
