AMD Converged Networking and Storage Software team has an opening for a senior engineer to develop high performance software for storage and networking in hyperscale, virtualized datacenters.
The responsibilities include developing drivers & tools for validation of the HW/FW NICs and firmware regression test framework.This will involve designing and implementing kernel and user level drivers to control firmware and hardware. We are seeking a fast learning, dynamic engineer eager to develop their skills working with the latest FPGA technology.
• Experience with C/C++
• Experience with Python is an advantage.
• Experience in working with Linux drivers and QEMU
• Experience with software development in use space drivers – DPDK/ SPDK.
• Understanding of L2/ L3/ L4 networking concepts – bridging, OVS, NIC offloads
• Experience with industrial standard devices e.g. Ethernet, PCIe, RDMA and Memory architectures DDR/SDRAM/DMA
• Hardware/software co-design and server system architecture understanding
• Hands on experience in development and testing environment
• Experience in high performance and low latency, multi-threaded, high throughput SRIOV-capable PCIe-subsystem drivers for compute and network acceleration.
• Proven track record of delivering software projects that exceed customer quality expectations
• Experience in successfully executing projects which require interaction with international sites and culturally diverse teams
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

• Demonstrates software development skills and proficiency on coding projects within assigned area of responsibility
• Iteratively codes, debugs, and creates regressions to ensure that code performs as specified with good coverage
• Documents code to within acceptable standards for the organization
• Demonstrates a collaborative approach to learning and problem-solving, seeking out and leveraging the talent of others when necessary (e.g. mentoring, code reviews, etc.)
• Demonstrates effective usage of technical communication and posting tools (e.g. Confluence, SharePoint)
• Demonstrates and applies competency of software development concepts and methods (e.g. data structures, algorithms, Agile methodology)
• Demonstrates and applies competency of software coding in C/C++ languages
• Demonstrates and applies competency of software build, analysis and debug tools (e.g. gdb, Trace32, Valgrind, Coverity, etc.)
• Proficient with the use of software defect tracking process
• Bachelor’s / Master’s in Engg.
• BE / ME or BTech / MTech in ECE or CS Engg. From tier one institutions
• 4 - 8 yrs. of relevant exp. in the industry
