We are looking for a Senior Backend Java Developer to join the Reference Data development team, to design and implement the next generation of features for the application as well as support clients in their implementation phase. The role offers extensive business and technical challenges in a highly dynamic and collaborative work environment. This role offers the right candidate opportunities to take ownership of components within the Reference Data platform and provide high quality technology solutions that address business needs by working with a team of application developers (in multiple global locations), business analysts and business stakeholders. Application within Reference Data uses multiple core technologies like Java, SpringBoot, Oracle, MS SQL, ActiveMQ, Kafka, RestFul APIs, Hazelcast , AWS etc.

Duties & accountability
• Ownership of the implementation (estimation, breakdown of tasks) for business functional specifications through the full software development lifecycle.
• Ownership of maintenance and support issues as they come up during the project lifecycle pre and post go-live. Provide technical assistance to other teams – support, QA, business analysis.
• Evaluate, apply & adoption of new technologies and tools within the Development team and across the organization to provide productivity, efficiency and scalability benefits.
• Collaborate and share technical and business knowledge to members of the Development and wider organization.
• Agent of constant improvement – within development and across organization
Education And Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• 8+ years’ experience in building applications using Java & SpringBoot platform with expert level java coding experience
• Significant hands-on experience on designing scalable robust applications
• Strong experience in relational databases like Oracle, writing SQL queries & stored procedures and analysing & fixing performance issues.
• Proficient in OOPS, Multithreading, Design Patterns and Data Structures.
• Hands on experience with Build and configuration tools like Maven/GitLab/Terraform /CICD/ Pipeline
• Strong hands-on experience in implementing restful microservices
• Comfortable working with both UNIX/Linux environments
• Good to have experience with building and deploying containerized services to 3rd party platforms such as AWS
• Good to have experience with UI related technologies like Angular 8/+/10/11, JQuery, HTML, CSS etc
• Good to have hands on experience on AWS, NoSQL Database, Docker, Kubernetes & Python
Management Requirements
• Should be able to work independently as IC and guide team members in any technical implementation or architectural challenges.
Commercial Awareness
• Basic understanding of Financial Markets desirable.
