S&P Global – OTC Derivatives Data
The Role: Sr. Software Engineer
The Team
OTC Derivatives Data provides consistent and reliable curve and volatility data for over-the-counter derivatives in support of trading, research, valuation and independent price verification. Asset class coverage includes foreign exchange, interest rate and equity derivatives.
We have a global team of 6 DEVs and 2 QAs (and currently couple of open roles for DEV positions)
The Impact
We are committed to the growth of Otcdd product in providing high quality data to the clients and improved monitoring and ease of use for the operations team. Improving performance of batch runs, exception management and optimizing infrastructure is quite important to achieve the target of growing revenue by 25% in 2026.

Responsibilities
• Develop new software, and enhance existing software, to high standards. Adhere to best practices that enhance user experience, usability, scalability, performance and security.
• Work with business analysts and product specialists on maintenance and improvements to our platform. Provide technical support and guidance to these teams.
• Work with the global OTC development team on all aspects of the platform (e.g., infrastructure, architecture, all asset classes)
• Ensuring clear communication on status to all stakeholders including regular progress and updates to your manager, peers and leads.
• Establish a productive working relationship with main product stakeholders for these components.
• Ensuring support to business queries and fixing any issues to ensure business continuity.
• Maintain and support the applications, investigating and fixing issues.
What We’re Looking For
• Degree in computer science or numerate discipline, or equivalent background
• 6+ years professional experience working on Java platform
• Strong Java 8+ skills or Clojure
• Comfortable working with both UNIX/Linux and Windows environments, and agile software development methodology.
• Thorough understanding of fundamental software engineering and computer science principles, object-oriented design, structured design, databases, algorithms, data structures, usability, refactoring debugging, and industry best practices.
• Excellent design and problem-solving skills
• Experience providing architectural guidance and mentoring others
• Motivation to acquire/increase knowledge of the financial sector is essential
• An understanding of derivatives is a plus
