JD for Sybase DBA =================== Roles & Responsibilities of Sybase DBA: ¿ Experience level 6 8 years . ¿ Excellent working knowledge in installations, configuration & maintaining Sybase 12.x, 16.x versions RDBMs. ¿ Strong Working experience in Sybase upgrades to higher versions (from 12.x/15.x to 16.x versions) & patching experience. ¿ Expert in installing & configuring Sybase replication 15.x/16 (MSA Multi site availability, Warm standby & heterogeneous replication to Oracle DBs). ¿ Excellent working experience in handling various replication issues on MSA, Warm standby & heterogeneous replication to Oracle environments. ¿ Backup & Restore Expert in database restore/resynch on both standalone as well as on replication environment. ¿ Strong working knowledge on UAM User Access management, managing various object permissions & deployments. ¿ Performance tuning Expert in dealing with performance related issue and addressing blocking, long running queries, stack strace, analyzing sysmon reports & fixing, etc. ¿ Strong working knowledge on maintenance activities like DBCC, update stats, re indexing / re org & providing fix based on the reports. ¿ Strong working knowledge on Linux/UNIX shell scripting creating, scheduling & maintaining the jobs. ¿ Strong understanding on ITIL processes & tools (Request/Change/Incident/problem management). Moderate knowledge in Agile & JIRA tool is added advantage. ¿ Good command over communication while dealing with customers and following up with SAP vendor for any kind of technical issue. ¿ Expert in handling high priority incident, RCA, etc calls. ¿ Good understanding & should be able to analyze/modify stored procedures, functions, triggers. ¿ Should be good in preparing & maintaining SOP documents, various other documentations as required. ¿ Willing to work in rotational shifts on week days, over weekends for any scheduled activities and provide on call support
