You will be a part of a GE Steam Power Software CoE and working as a Sr. Software Engineer, responsible for contributing to hands on back-end development with focus on product development for engineering applications. You will work independently and contribute to the immediate team and also part of design discussions and execution of business transformation projects.

In This Role You Will Have The Opportunity To
• Develop component, feature and or feature set, work independently and contributes to the immediate team.
• Translate requirements defined as user stories and deliver to required timelines and quality standards.
• Work cross functionally with other business departments to align activities and deliverables.
• Engage with subject matter experts to clearly define scope of transformation projects and its execution.
• Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, Refactoring and Testing Techniques.
• Understand performance parameters and assess application performance proactively share information across the team, to the right audience with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness.
We Are Looking For An Enthusiastic Professional With
• A minimum of 5 year(s) of professional experience in software development with a Bachelor’s degree OR a Master's degree preferably in Mechanical Engineering or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
• Minimum 4 year(s) of strong expertise in core and Advanced Java, J2EE, micro-services architectures, Eclipse RCP and Eclipse IDE, Web services (REST APIs), SPRING5, Spring Boot framework and hibernate.
• Experience with SQL data stores such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.
• Experience in DevOps, GIT, Junit, Maven, Jasmine, Jenkins.
• Experience working with Agile software development methodologies.
• Knowledge of C/C++ and Fortran is preferable.
• Exposure to Microsoft Technologies, .NET, DCOM, ATL, VC++, VB, SQL Server, SOA, JBOSS, and XML.
• Exposure to HTML5, JavaScript, AngularJS, Backbone, Node.js, CSS, Ajax, Polymer, Protractor, Web Component Tester.
• Knowledge in open-source development, license types and their obligation.
• Good communication skills to develop and present ideas to wider audience.
• Good problem solving, organizational and self-management skills.
