In this role he will be responsible for designing , developing and testing Embedded Software (Firmware), platforms and systems that control and runs on devices that need to be tailored to the needs of the hardware that it has to control and run on (i.e. directly controls the real time functions of a physical device such as motors, alternators, engines, valves, fans, and other devices and products). Typically requires a deep understanding of the characteristics of the physical device being controlled, the realtime functions it is expected to perform and the ability to design, develop, implement, and test the logic and software required to realize the realtime functionality.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
• Designs and/or programs/develops a small module or a large component, feature, set of feature, whole feature area or entire embedded software product. Some areas of expertise may include, but is not limited to, networks, operating systems, cybersecurity, databases or applications. May be responsible for the creation of an entire product.
• Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
• Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
• Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
• Be responsible for providing technical leadership and defining, developing, and evolving software in a fast paced and agile development environment using the latest software development technologies and infrastructure.
• Provide guidance to a team of developers with planning and execution and/or design architecture.
• Work with Product Line Leaders (PLLs) to understand product requirements & vision.
Educational Qualifications:
• This role requires advanced experience in the Engineering/Technology & Embedded SW Development. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelors or Masters degree with Computer Science, Electrical or Electronics & Communication engineering from an accredited university or college with at least 5+ years of experience.
Required Skills:
• Good knowledge on C and basic concepts on OOPs(Object Oriented Programming).
• Working knowledge on ADC( Analog to Digital Converter), DAC( Digital to Analog Converter ), I2C( Inter-Integrated Circuit ).
• Very good experience with developing bare metal embedded software and software with RTOS(Real-Time Operating System)
• Good understanding of OS concepts and RTOS(Real-Time Operating System internals).
• Experience with safety-critical software development
• Experience in providing embedded design and solutions
• Hands on experience with board bring up, microcontrollers and bootloaders
• Very good knowledge on debugging embedded software with or without emulators.
• Experience in writing software requirements is preferable.
Desired Characteristics
• Good knowledge on C++
• Working knowledge on Com SPI(Serial Peripheral Interface)Flash memory, UART(Universal Asynchronous Receiver/transmitter)Timers and CAN bus.
• Understanding of Testing Techniques such as Unit Test, Grey Box, Black Box Testing etc.
• Experience in writing Unit Test cases for embedded Software.
• Knowledge of source code management tools such as git and svn.
• Exposure to writing FMEAs and software reliability.
