Job Description Roles/Responsibilities Own and evolve the technical vision and architectural strategy for cloud-native systems, ensuring alignment with business goals and long-term scalability Act as a technical leader across multiple teams, guiding architectural decisions, setting engineering standards, and influencing product direction Mentor and develop engineers, fostering a high-performing, collaborative engineering culture Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including product, security, and senior leadership, to align technical strategy with business priorities Drive adoption of modern cloud-native patterns and technologies, ensuring systems are resilient, observable, and cost-effective Lead design and implementation of distributed systems with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability Conduct architecture reviews, lead design sessions, and ensure engineering excellence across the team Champion DevOps and CI/CD best practices to accelerate delivery and improve system health Represent the engineering team in strategic planning and roadmap discussions Work with the team to help solve business problems Minimum Qualifications 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a proven track record of technical leadership and architectural ownership 5+ years of experience designing and delivering scalable, cloud-native systems on AWS, Azure, or GCP Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams, setting technical direction, and mentoring engineers at all levels Deep expertise in distributed systems design, cloud infrastructure, and modern DevOps practices Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical audiences Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with a minimum of 14+ years of experience working with cloud-native technologies such as big data systems, analytics platforms, containerized microservices, serverless functions, and event-driven architectures Desired qualifications 8+ years of experience in software engineering, including 3+ years working with cloud-native technologies such as big data systems, analytics platforms, containerized microservices, serverless functions, and event-driven architectures Proven experience designing and architecting large-scale distributed systems, preferably using AWS technologies (e.g., ECS, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, Kinesis) Direct experience engaging with end customers to assess technical needs, propose solutions, and resolve complex issues collaboratively Experience supporting and maintaining production-grade software deployments in cloud and hybrid environments Deep technical expertise across deployment models, including public cloud, hybrid, and on-premises infrastructure Demonstrated ability to bring innovative ideas across areas such as large-scale system design, test automation, production observability and CI/CD Strong experience in creating, documenting, and communicating software architectures for complex, multi-team products Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including backlog management, sprint planning, and cross-functional collaboration Excellent technical problem-solving skills, with a strong aptitude for learning and applying new technologies and methodologies quickly Inclusion and Diversity GE Healthcare is an Equal Opportunity Employer where inclusion matters.
