The Role
Our client’s Algorithms team is seeking a Python Software Engineer with proven experience in building enterprise-grade production systems. This is not a research-only or prototype role — the emphasis is on designing, deploying, and scaling algorithms that run reliably in production, supporting mission-critical financial infrastructure.
The successful professional will be responsible for creating and maintaining services, APIs, and distributed systems that productionize financial algorithms, combining a strong software engineering mindset with quantitative problem-solving ability.
Responsibilities
• Design, build, and maintain scalable Python services, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Productionize complex financial algorithms, ensuring stability, reliability, and performance.
• Collaborate with quants, product owners, and subject matter experts to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Contribute to the architecture of distributed compute platforms and algorithmic frameworks.
• Conduct design and code reviews, ensuring best practices and high engineering standards.
• Maintain and modernize the codebase to support long-term scalability and enterprise-grade quality.
Required Experience
• Proven Python software engineering experience (typically 3+ years), with strong OOP and system design skills.
• Demonstrated ability to deploy and maintain production systems — APIs, scalable pipelines, or enterprise applications.
• Solid understanding of algorithms and data structures, applied in real-world engineering contexts.
• Background in test-driven development and agile methodologies.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Preferred Experience:
• Advanced degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (AWS).
• Exposure to optimization frameworks such as Gurobi or OR-Tools.
• Knowledge of financial markets, derivatives, or margin/clearing systems.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
Compensation Transparency
This role offers a base salary range of $170 000 - 200,000 +USD as salary base along with a discretionary performance bonus and a benefits package.
Final compensation will reflect the individual’s qualifications, skills, and experience.
