The opportunity:
OpenText is seeking a talented, personable technical writer who contributes to the Product Information team by creating sophisticated technical documentation for developers and the OpenText Developer Cloud.


You are great at:
Producing high-quality, clear, accurate, and complete developer documentation with no errors, within established deadlines.
Organizing and prioritizing tasks, and have exceptional analytical skills.
Managing multiple projects and deliverables.
Working in an agile development environment and able to gather information for a writing assignment from a variety of sources, including Development, Quality Assurance, User Experience/Design, and Product Management.
Researching and learning new technologies in technical writing and developer documentation.

What it takes:
University degree or college diploma (BA or MA), preferably in Computer Science, English, or Technical Writing, with 8+ years of technical writing experience, preferably on developer content.
Ability to lead documentation projects for developer content, balancing workloads and prioritizing commitments according to business needs.
Experience writing developer documentation and knowledge of REST APIs.
Ability to create and execute Developer Experience (DevX) strategic initiatives for documentation standards, API reference, code samples, tutorials, and information architecture across product teams.
Exceptional knowledge and experience with developer content authoring tools, for example, Swagger/OpenAPI, MarkDown, or other industry standards.
Programming experience and the ability to read code.
Experience working in Docs-as-Code environment.
Excellent knowledge of Configuration Management tools, such as GitLab and Perforce.
Excellent knowledge of JIRA & Confluence.
Excellent knowledge of software development environments, programming languages, and mobile devices.
Ability to create engaging developer-focused content for Cloud applications.
Experience defining and following documentation standards and best practices.
Exceptional English and communication skills. Experience writing using a corporate style guide and following documentation processes.
Ability to communicate clearly with all project stakeholders in distributed locations.
Experience writing in a structured authoring environment and creating single-source and minimalist content.
Knowledge of XML and HTML and various help formats.
Knowledge of documentation localization processes as well as software usability principles.
Excellent at reviewing documentation written by other writers to ensure clarity, completeness, accuracy, and overall quality standards.
Knowledge of Information Management (IM) products and Cloud platforms.
