Position Summary
MIP, the nation's leading fund accounting and payroll solution for nonprofits and educational institutions, seeks a skilled Technical Writer to join our growing R&D team. In this role, you will create clear, concise documentation for our industry-leading fundraising software, working closely with the development team to produce a variety of materials, including how-to guides and reference guides.
A Day in the Life
• Design, develop, edit, and update comprehensive product documentation for a wide range of modules and products.
• Produce documentation in multiple formats while maintaining a consistent style.
• Manage updates and revisions to existing documentation.
• Translate complex technical information into clear, customer-friendly deliverables.
• Utilize various resources to ensure accuracy, including interpreting story documents, interviewing subject matter experts, and experimenting with software.
• Collect and interpret technical data and coordinate layout for publication.
• Research, develop, and document technical design specifications and test scripts.
• Contribute to maintaining a library of technical terminology and documentation processes.
• Participate in Agile/cross-functional teams and attend regular development meetings.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders and team members across different disciplines.
• Utilize your expertise to assist , troubleshoot, and train colleagues, and propose improvements to processes and products.
• Develop a deep understanding of customer needs, company products, and business goals.
• Stay up to date with the latest help authoring technologies and trends.
