Job Description Summary
Fixed Income and Currencies (FIC) Cloud is an on-premise Google Cloud implementation for critical financial systems hosted internally due technical requirements. Launching in 2026, and growing over 3 years to become the on-prem solution for internal cloud adoption.
FIC Cloud Support supports this highly resilient scalable platform using Anthos. Team members interact with application owners and platform leads to continuously improve platform management and adoption.
We're seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to support the implementation of large-scale private cloud environment using Anthos. You should have proven experience of live production support with a passion for platform management and automation.
You'll be expected to implement SRE principles through tooling and resources to proactively build and implement services to improve IT and support.
You'll improve Service Management processes & reporting by identifying process improvements in support models and assist in implementation. Working with teams to introduce and support new services and systems. Additionally, produce quality of service reports and follow up and resolve issues of poor service.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
• Identification / responding / reporting of issues and escalating to development, infrastructure, and application teams for remediation. Strong verbal & written English skills required.
• Support systems in a 24x7 follow the sun environment including troubleshooting, patching, and root cause analysis.
• Scheduled on-call support and weekend-cover on rotation.
• Support escalation and communication regarding scheduled maintenance. Raise infrastructure changes and schedule operating system patching updates.
• Continuous improvement of service engineering, delivery, and operations.
• Liaising with development teams on new application handover and 3rd line escalation of issues
• The role also demands an early start on Mondays (including on Public Holidays) and working on Weekends(for releases) and Public holidays
Your Skills and Experience:
• At least Bachelor's degree in a technical/Engineering subject or equivalent experience
• Experience of 6-12 years in DevOPS/SRE role managing cloud platforms (GCP preferred).
• Ability to manage and prioritise multiple issues; work under pressure
• Adaptable and able to quickly learn new processes and/or technologies
Service Level 2 (SL2) Technical Support providing rapid support for the FIC Cloud Platform, leveraging
• Advanced knowledge of Linux operating system (Windows beneficial)
• Scripting; experience in Python and Unix shell (e.g. bash) (PowerShell beneficial)
• Ability to automate systems reducing manual efforts
• Maintain active monitoring / command & control responsibilities
• Familiar with containerisation and orchestration (Kubernetes, Google Anthos, etc
