Responsibilities
What to expect-
As a layout engineer, you will work in our Powertrain manufacturing engineering (PTME) department, team is in charge of completing all the powertrain projects. In your role as layout engineer, you will lead the development of the master layout from concept design to detailed planning, managing the lead work on several projects and production concept and feasibility layout for new facilities or production processes. Together with working closely with the CFT, you will make sure that the overall facility design is created to the necessary degree of detail.
Key Responsibilities –
• Develop layout supporting overall plant production, material flow strategy & pedestrian safety.
• Take the lead in developing the master layout, from concept design to detailed planning and make sure stakeholders are aligned of all process and facility requirements.
• Layout development should be in line with Ford standards and ensure it is followed through the process E2E, to create a lean and BIC layout.
• Creating schematic and comprehensive drawings to be used as a guide during the installation.
• Help site installation crews while they are building or installing.
• Provide material flow and pedestrian safety analysis for individuals commodity production lines and for overall Plant Layout
• Develop 3D layouts to enhance design and planning activities.
• Coordinate laser scanning activities, output point cloud data to be utilized for checking accuracy of 2D & 3D CAD layouts/models.
• Coordination with global & CFT for layout inputs followed by project planning, scheduling, leadership reviews, improvements, implementation, and documentation.
• Compile & issue all estimating details & strategy requirements for all new model program cost studies & projects for the Operating Systems & Infrastructure Groups based upon developed layouts.
What You Will Need –
• Demonstrable previous experience and background in layout development
• Good knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD, Team center vis mockup
• Advanced with 3D modeling software i.e., Autodesk Inventor, NX line designer or other equivalent 3D tools.
• Self-starter with ability to work in a fast-paced engineering environment.
