Who we are looking for:
ACV Auctions is looking for a Web Software Engineer that is responsible for the development and
maintenance of our Auction applications for a diverse and vast number of browsers. You will work
alongside software and production engineers to build and ship new features that will drive the growth
of ACV Auctions. Commitment to collaboration, problem solving, sophisticated design, and creating
quality products is essential.
What you will do:
• Establish and document best practices and coding standards.
• Work closely with our product and design teams to develop the future of Auctions.
• Design, build,maintain high performance, reusable, and reliable code.
• Help maintain code quality by implementing bug fixes and code reviews.
• Design, build and automate high-quality unit, integration, and UI tests that scale with app
growth.
• Be on call for production support.
• Own the overall performance of products and frameworks within a defined area of focus.
• Develop roadmaps and prioritizes technical debt to effectively plan features and work.
• Respond-to and troubleshoot highly complex problems quickly, efficiently, and effectively.
What you will need:
• A minimum of 3+ years experience in WEB development.
• BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical
experience.
• Experience with JavaScript.
• Experience using any modern frontend framework (Vue.js/React/Angular). We primarily use
Vue.js and love it, but you can bring any experience with you! We have React, React Native and
even some Knockout.js in our stack.
• Experience with Webpack, Grunt and JavaScript task runners/bundlers.
• Experience with TailwindCSS, CSS, Stylesheets, and CSS preprocessors (SASS/LESS). We use SASS
at ACV on all our web projects and recently added TailWindCSS support throughout our
applications!
• Experience maintaining and extending an existing codebase, adapting to pre-existing patterns
and tracing the code’s path of execution.
• Experience developing unit tests. Our web projects utilize Jest for all of our unit testing needs.
• Experience with build & deployment automation (CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins/TeamCity).
• Experience with version control systems (Git)
