Role Summary:
Lead and drive the development in BI domain using SSAS eco-system with deep technical and BI ecosystem knowledge. The resource will be responsible for the SSAS model preparation and deployment.
Key functions & responsibilities:
• SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) Developer working on a Data Warehouse project.
• SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) Developer will develop solutions required to support the business with robust solutions that provide data, analytics, and reports, which support numerous functions including metrics, dashboards and data discovery.
• Designs analyzes, develops, codes, tests, debugs and documents solutions to satisfy business requirements.
• Proficient in data warehouse development skills spanning multiple design techniques.
• Experience in Analytics / OLAP Cube Development (Microsoft SSAS and MDX). Analyze, design, build, query, troubleshoot and maintain cubes. Knowledge/expertise in SSAS Tabular with DAX language, Proficient in MDX and DAX.
• Develop and improve solutions spanning data processing activities from the data lake (stage) to star schemas and reporting view’s / tables and finally into SSAS.
• Develop and improve Microsoft Analysis Services cubes (tabular and dimensional)
• Proficient in MDX and DAX.
• Collaborate with other teams within the organization and be able to devise the technical solution as it relates to the business & technical requirements.
• Will be expected to mentor colleagues and be proactive in developing colleague skill sets to have a better understanding of Analysis Services.
• Maintain documentation for all processes implemented.
• Adhere to and suggest improvements to coding standards, best practices, and contribute to the improvement of these best practices.
Desired Candidate’s Profile
Academics:
• Bachelor’s degree preferable in Computer science.
• Master’s degree would have an added advantage.
Experience: Overall 1-2 Years of experience in SSAS.
Technology & Skills:
• Hands-on expertise of Power BI ,SSAS
• Strong knowledge in SQL, PL/SQL and Data modeling.
• Knowledge of databases like Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, etc.
• Exposure to alternate Visualization technologies like Tableau, Qlikview, Spotfire etc.
• Good communication & Analytical skills with excellent creative and conceptual thinking abilities.
• Superior organizational skills, attention to detail/level of quality, Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
