Key Responsibilities:

Instruction:
Develop and deliver lesson plans for social science courses that align with the curriculum and educational standards.
Teach a range of social science subjects, including history, geography, political science, economics, and related fields.
Use various teaching methods and resources to engage students and facilitate learning.
Curriculum Development:
Design and update course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, and assessments, ensuring they are current and relevant.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine the social science curriculum.
Assessment:
Create and administer assessments, such as quizzes, tests, essays, and projects, to evaluate student understanding and progress.
Provide timely and constructive feedback on student work, helping them improve their analytical and critical thinking skills.
Student Support:
Offer additional support to students who may need extra help, including tutoring or remedial instruction.
Encourage students to develop a critical understanding of social issues and global perspectives.
Classroom Management:
Maintain effective classroom management and discipline to create a productive learning environment.
Address any behavioral issues or conflicts in a timely and professional manner.
Professional Development:
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with advancements in social science education and teaching methodologies.
Attend workshops, conferences, and training sessions as required.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other faculty members to support interdisciplinary projects and school initiatives.
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to discuss student progress and address any concerns.
Technology Integration:
Utilize educational technology and digital resources to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
Stay updated with new technologies and integrate them into the classroom as appropriate.
Extracurricular Activities:
Participate in or lead extracurricular activities related to social sciences, such as history clubs, debate teams, or field trips.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, Education, or a related field.
Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent teaching certification.
Proven experience teaching social sciences at the secondary school level.
Strong knowledge of social science concepts and methodologies.
