The Staff Accountant will be an integral member of the finance team and responsible for a variety of accounting functions. The qualified candidate will work under the supervision of the Controller. A detail-oriented individual well versed in accounting principles who has the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously will be best suited for this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Possess a strong understanding of general ledger financial transactions and their impact on the organization’s financial statements.
Analyze general ledger accounts and perform account reconciliations.
Propose adjusting journal entries when necessary.
Responsible for grant management, to include collecting data from various sources, maintaining supporting documentation of grant dollars spent, and monthly grant invoicing to the State.
Maintain relationships with vendors to support the department.
Administration of our employee expense and credit card expense platform.
Assist in bi-weekly payroll to include maintaining the general ledger journal entries associated with.
Key contributor to internal and external audits.
Support month-end close activities.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist in implementing changes to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
Ad hoc reporting as needed.
Special projects as requested.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Accounting/Finance or related field.
Minimum two years’ experience in accounting or finance – emphasis on general ledger accounting is a plus.
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Highly Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal and written skills.

The Center for Life Management has partnered with New England College to offer a Master’s Degree! This is an exciting opportunity for CLM staff to earn a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (MS) degree in 3 years.
Who’s Eligible and What’s Required:
Must be a regular, full-time CLM employee in good standing for 9 months or more.
Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree.
Must agree to a five (5) year commitment of full-time employment in good standing with the Center for Life Management (beginning from start date/year of Professional Development Program participation).
Participants must maintain a B average to continue participation in the program.
Cost of tuition is covered by Center for Life Management
